A movement review is an excellent touch point to see exactly what DARI can collect and to better understand its importance in your motion health!
During the unilateral squat DARI tracks a variety of different movements. Specifically motion in different planes.
One of the most common abilities is to track the primary plane of movement of the knee, which would be flexion.
However, DARI has the ability to track not just the primary planes of movement, but also the non-primary planes of movement (or what DARI calls alignment). One of the variables of interest in alignment for single leg squat is valgus.
To go deeper, DARI has developed over 10 dynamic valgus models to be used in motion analysis. What DARI has found regarding this analysis of valgus is that what clinical providers perceive and what bioengineers calculate can be different. Finding the correct method of measurement and standardizing was key.
